A free girl is a girl, lady, or woman that lives her life in liberty! She is not bound by society's rules and roles for her. She is not moved by other peoples emotional burdens that they try to impose upon her and she thinks clearly, takes deep breaths and makes decisions based on what she really believes - not just what her emotions for the moment say.
